Finca Artemira

Our Story

About Us

In the mountains of Salinas, in the district of San José de Lourdes, province of San Ignacio, in Cajamarca, Peru, found Finca Artemira, a farm with more than 40 years of history.

story

Since 2015, the farm has been transformed, introducing coffee varieties

such as Pink Bourbon, Geisha, and Marshall, and adopting regenerative agriculture by  agroforestry systems. These innovations have improved coffee quality and the sustainability of cultivation.
The production process at Finca Artemira is meticulous, notably featuring double anaerobic fermentation for washed coffees. This method includes fermentation in sealed bags for 24 hours, followed by a second 36-hour fermentation after pulping, and drying in solar dryers for 12 to 21 days. The result is a coffee with flavor profiles that include red fruits, honey, and milk chocolate. Finca Artemira has recognition in the coffee community, participate in events such as Expocafé Perú, Expo Cajamarca, and the Cup of Excellence. Additionally, we began exporting coffees to specialty roasters in Peru and abroad.

Today, Finca Artemira is an example of how tradition can be integrated with innovation and sustainability, offering specialty coffees that reflect the commitment and passion of those who grow them.

The introduction of Geisha at Finca Artemira

The Geisha variety at Finca Artemira was introduced because it is a high-quality coffee variety known for its floral and fruity flavor profile.

These Geisha seeds were harvested from a Geisha plant brought from Ethiopia and grown by Rossy Rivera of “Café Victoria” at her mother’s home, where it has adapted to the geographic area of San Ignacio.

The Geisha from Finca Artemira is grown at an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level. The processing is carried out meticulously, the unique characteristics of the Geisha resulting in flavor profiles that include jasmine, peach, and rose tea.
