Our Coffee Varieties
At Finca Artemira, we cultivate a variety of high-quality coffee beans, carefully selected for their adaptation to the unique microclimate of our mountains in Cajamarca and their outstanding cup profile.
Each variety represents a combination of tradition, innovation, and respect for biodiversity.

Geisha
Recognized worldwide for its elegance and complexity, the Geisha variety is grown in our highest-altitude areas, between 1,800 and 1,900 meters above sea level. It offers a cup with intense floral notes, such as jasmine and orange blossom, accompanied by flavors of ripe peach, black tea, and bergamot. Its profile is delicate, with a bright acidity and a lingering aftertaste. In competitions such as the Cup of Excellence, our Geisha has achieved outstanding scores.

Pink Bourbon
A variety prized for its natural sweetness and fruity profile. At Finca Artemira, the Pink Bourbon develops red fruit notes such as cherry and raspberry, with a silky texture and juicy acidity. It is a demanding variety to cultivate, but it offers exceptional rewards in the cup, with aromatic complexity and balance.

Caturra
Low-growing and highly adaptable, Caturra has been part of our farm for generations. Its characteristics include good productivity and a balanced cup, with medium body and flavors reminiscent of milk chocolate, nuts, and caramel. It’s ideal for those looking for a smooth, approachable cup. At Finca Artemira, we have both red and yellow Caturra. Red Caturra tends to offer a cup with notes of cocoa and nuts, while Yellow Caturra can exhibit more fruity nuances such as peach and apple. Their compact size and good productivity make them ideal for sustainable, artisanal management on our farm.

Catuai
A hybrid of Mundo Novo and Caturra, Catuai is grown at medium-to-high altitudes. It produces a cup with medium body, consistent sweetness, and soft notes of nuts and panela. Its resilience and yield make it a fundamental variety in our sustainable production lots.

Tabi
Tabi is a hybrid variety developed in Colombia in response to coffee rust, combining the best characteristics of Typica, Bourbon, and Timor. At Finca Artemira, this variety perfectly adapts to our high-altitude conditions and climate, producing a clean cup with bright acidity, a silky body, and notes reminiscent of tropical fruits, caramel, and orange blossom. Its natural disease resistance makes it a sustainable, high-quality option for the future of coffee.

Marshall
Marshall is a lesser-known variety, yet highly valued in specialty contexts for its vigor, adaptability, and cup potential. Grown in selected lots at Finca Artemira, it is characterized by its pronounced sweetness, medium-high acidity, and notes reminiscent of sugarcane, yellow fruits, and wildflowers. It brings genetic and sensory diversity to our cup profiles.
All of our varieties are grown under a regenerative agroforestry system, without the use of synthetic agrochemicals, promoting the water conservation, and the well-being of pollinators and other local species. We believe that excellent coffee begins in a healthy ecosystem.
